Fun For Tots

FFT Cloth Diapers

Dec-25-2009 By admin

I have designed and redesigned cloth diapers to fit my son numerous times. I finally came up with a design that works well. My final design is a side snap pocket diaper. Each diaper has two pocket openings for easier stuffing and convenient for washing. The side snaps diaper have a few advantages:

  • Easier to put on the child for people with big hands.
  • Looks trimmer; less bulky in the front.
  • Easier to pull pants over this diaper.
  • Keeps the opening “hidden” from children’s inquisitve eyes and busy hands.
  • For toddler size diapers, you can convert this diaper to a pair of training pants when potty training comes around.

I have two option for the diapers; double layer fleece and a cute cotton fabric for the outer diaper with a hidden PUL (polyurethane laminate) fabric. The inner fabric will be made made from microfleece, cotton velour or suede. I use resin(plastic) snaps so they won’t rust after numerous washings. If you prefer hook and loop tape, I can replace the snaps with Touch Tape.

Give one a try and see for yourself if it works as well for you as it is for us.
