I searched and tried everything I could find to remove the nasty odor from the diapers once they were wet. Then one day, I found a blog. The blogger said that she has a foolproof way to get rid of the ammonia smell.

It’s so simple. Each time you put in a load of dirty diapers in washer to soak, pour in about a half cup of vinegar while the tub is filling up. Let the diapers soak in the cold water and vinegar for about 10 minutes. Complete the washer cycle and continue washing the diapers as usual.

I have used this method for about a month now and I don’t have anymore problems with stale urine smell on the diapers.
